Differences and Similarities Between Foster Care and Kinship Care

Whilst foster care and kinship care get lumped together as one and the same, and they do have a lot of common elements, there are also some important differences.

This is not a “kinship” versus “foster” movement, but rather an acknowledgement of some of the things that may be different for those who care for their kin.
